THESE BOOTS ARE LEFT FOR WALKING

All that's left.

All that’s left.

After setting the record for the warmest March ever — a couple of days the highs hit nearly 20C / 70C — Moscow is making up for that lost winter, in April. I’m talking freezing temps, icy roads and daily snow. My seasonal footwear has lost the will to live. Within a span of one week I lost four pairs of winter boots: a broken heel on one, a  broken zipper on the other, the soles coming off on third and the fourth one literally came apart at the seams. Moscow’s famous slush & melting salts mix surely didn’t help the matters. I am down to one pair of proper boots. Thankfully, I am not too concerned about contingencies — in 36 hours my morning walk will look less like this:

Moscow's clean, spring-y streets.

The Spring is here, can’t you tell?

…and more like this:

Florida sun, here I come!

Florida sun, here I come!

    • I hadnt turned on the AC once – Can you believe it? The weather has been AMAZEBALLS. I do not understand how people can live in these conditions year-round 🙂

  1. Same thing happens to my winter boots every year – I think they’re just made shit in this part of the world! But then an Irish pair I bought disintegrated within a month as well, so…
I so want to be in your shoes/flip flops right now! 🙂
